Paul M. Marks

Officer Paul M. Marks was hired by the Monroe Police Department in 2005. Ofc. Marks has been an active member of the police department's Accident Investigation team since it's inception in the fall of 2006. Ofc. Marks, being one of the department's newest officers, was slated for a lay-off in October of 2009. Even though Ofc. Marks knew his time on this department was potentially short, it did not slow him down nor cause him to second guess his actions in the early hours of June 30th, 2009. Along with Cpl Tolstedt, both officers crawled into a burning apartment rescuing an incapacitated man.

Ofc. Marks was selected for "Officer of the Year 2009" by his peers and the command staff, for the excellent quality and quantity of his work. Ofc. Marks routinely volunteers his time for community related activities such as the annual Picnic in the Park, Shop with a Cop, and the Thanksgiving Dinner for the needy. Ofc. Marks selection as the Monroe Police Department's Officer of the Year has made him a member of the elite few officers who continue to display their confidence and abilities to the citizens of this City on a daily basis.
